nyc wedding photography with film

NYC Film Wedding Photography

everyone's shooting film at weddings now. but there's a difference between someone who bought a film camera last month and someone who learned in a darkroom.

film makes you slow down. 36 shots per roll means every frame counts. no taking 500 photos and hoping one works.

why film + digital

digital for the important stuff - ceremony, family photos, things you can't miss. film for the moments that matter - getting ready, quiet conversations, the last dance.

film has texture. grain. it ages well. your wedding photos won't look dated in 10 years because film never goes out of style.

Brooklyn Wedding Photography

documentary style

no fake candids. no "look at each other and laugh" poses. just what actually happens.

good wedding photos tell a story. who was there. what it felt like. how your aunt cried during the vows. how your friends danced.

NYC Elopement Photography

city hall elopements

sometimes the best weddings are just you two. city hall at 10am. coffee after. maybe brunch.

elopement photos are different. quieter. more about the two of you than about documenting a party.

includes both ceremony and a walk around the city after. film included.

Brooklyn Film Wedding

full weddings

bigger celebrations need more coverage. getting ready through last dance. family photos without making everyone stand around forever.

includes film photography, same-day preview photos, full gallery delivered promptly. no surprise fees.

about lana dubkova

hi, i'm lana and i think you should throw a party.

you should throw a party because this is your one life. you get to do this thing once. just once. blink and you miss it!

so do it big. throw the party. invite all your friends. make sure the drinks are flowing. go all out with the decor. make it your own.

hire the silly photographer who gets the vibe.

throw the party.

born in belarus and raised in nyc as a first-generation belarusian-american, i studied photography from high school through the school of visual arts and drexel university. given the opportunity, i always choose a timeless black and white photograph as homage to my many days in the darkroom. i believe in levity, service, and showing up for people with care and integrity. my brief flirtation with corporate life taught me i'd rather be at the party.

i describe my work as artful, culture-forward, intimate, documentary-style portraits and candids. i shoot portraits and document events with a paparazzi-inspired, film noir, retro, 35mm off-the-cuff style. i love my camera and i bring technical skills and an eye for composition, but i'm not a gear head and my focus is on the people.
